From the Desk of Pastor Horsley...
Psalm 77:11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
In this Psalm the author is facing great difficulty. As you read the first 10 verses
of this message you see the struggle that is being faced The question seems to come forth, " where is God when you need
Him?" In verse 3 he complained and his spirit is overwhelmed. He cannot sleep at night and begins to serch for answrs.
He goes back to other times when God worked in the lives of His children and is encouraged.
I believe that is why it is so important to teach our young people the Word of God. We are creating
the foundation they can return to when they are overwhelmed with life. When they have difficult times in their lives they
can recall the acts of God in other times and be encouraged that God can act on their behalf today. We know that God is not
a respecter of persons. What he does for on He will do for others if they are willing to walk in His ways. Acts 10:34 Then
Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Today I am here to be blessed. I know that He has blessed in times past and He is willing and ready
to bless today. Our problem is believing rather than doubting. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. 1 John 5:4 For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
